This seminar provides participants with an understanding of how inmate discipline should be conducted. The instructors review Federal case law and how it relates to due process in inmate disciplinary hearings. Seminar participants learn how to communicate effectively with inmates in order to reduce incidents of misbehavior
and avoid becoming part of the problem. Attendees also learn to investigate allegations of misbehavior and how to conduct disciplinary hearings that protect the inmate’s due process rights.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
Sheriffs, jail administrators, command staff, legal counsel, detention and training personnel, staff assigned to inmate discipline, and line staff who generate disciplinary reports and investigations.
