Hartley County Sheriff's Office (Deputy Position)

The Hartley County Sheriff's Office Is now taking applications for full time position (Deputy Sheriff)
*This applicant will be hired once the sitting Sheriff retires.


  • Must hold a valid Basic Texas Peace Officer License.
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Have a valid Texas Driver's License
  • Ability to pass a background investigation


  • Associates degree or higher
  • Intermediate TCOLE License or higher
  • 2 or more years of patrol experience

Working hours: Shift work both Day and Night shifts. Working hours are any hours in a 24 hr period but may vary as needed to accomplish job task and or as requested by the Sheriff.

Working Conditions: Work is indoors and outside in all weather conditions and environment as deemed necessary by the Sheriff.

Physical Demands: Bending, squatting, kneeling, twisting upper body and lifting.

Prefer experience in county government, Property management and working knowledge of the Texas civil and criminal justice system.

Additional Requirements: Be available and qualified to give testimony in court of law as to civil process and criminal property. And the evidentiary process as it relates to property held as evidence in Hartley County criminal cases.

Salary range: $43,990 - $48,150 depending on experience
