Floyd County Sheriff's Office (Patrol Deputy Position)

Description

Essential duties include but are not limited to the following:
Observe, detect, and apprehend violators of the law,
Respond to emergency calls and take appropriate action,
Conduct investigations and determine appropriate action regarding incidents.
Complete detailed and accurate reports, and
Maintain an acceptable level of self-initiated activity.

The Deputy must also be able to:

Identify and analyze problems, evaluate solutions, and make sound judgments;
Work in a variety of conditions;
Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with a variety of people, and
Efficiently perform with little supervision.

Requirements
Applicant must have a current TCOLE Peace Officer Certification/License.
Applicant must be 21 years of age
Applicant must hold a valid Texas Driver's License.
Applicant must be a U.S. Citizen.
Applicant must have a High School Diploma or G.E.D.
Applicant must be able to read and write the English language.

An applicant who is hired as Certified Peace Officers is subject to a twelve (12) month probation period.

Applicants must complete a personal history statement Applicant must pass a rigorous background investigation. This position will require a psychological examination and drug screen.

Floyd County offers the following benefits

Starting salary from $32,000 to $36,225 (determined by experience)
