HOWARD COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE (PATROL DEPUTY POSITION)

Starting Salary:
$ 44,995 increases to $ 45,995 after six months probation period.
Deputies work 12 hr. shifts. 6am/6pm
Benefit package includes Certificate Pay, County Provided Insurance for the employee, Retirement, Vacation and Sick Leave. Take home Tahoe, Taser, Patrol Rifle and Shotgun is provided along with Uniforms. Must be able to work weekends and Holidays.

Duties include:
Patrol roadways and residential areas within the county. Provide assistance to citizens in emergency and non emergency situations. Respond to calls for service; serve warrants and civil papers as needed, provide assistance to the Big Spring Police Department when needed. These are just a few of the many duties required by HCSO. Along with the Patrol Division HCSO also has CID, SRO and Mental Health Divisions.

Minimum Qualifications:
Must have a Current Basis Peace Officer license; be in good standing with TCOLE.
Must have a valid Texas Drivers License with an insurable driving record. High School diploma or GED. Must be able to pass a background check.
