Minimum Education, Experience and Skill Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED
Current Texas EMT/Paramedic certification by the Texas Department of Health Services OR currently licensed by the Texas Board of Nursing as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN).
Will also consider a CERTIFIED Medical Assistant.
12 months experience in Health Care Delivery, Clinical Experience Preferred
Must be able to pass an extensive background investigation to include a drug screen
Must have reliable transportation and possess a valid Texas Driver’s License
Must possess the ability of working independently using knowledge and skills to render appropriate clinical based health care

**The primary function and purpose of this position is to perform medical screening for intake of inmates, assess health care needs of inmates, and dispense medication as prescribed. Coordinate with jail staff for scheduling of appointments for inmate with healthcare providers. In addition, perform medical tests within scope of license, maintain accurate medical charts and related paperwork and be on call to respond to medical emergencies in the jail**
