Aransas County Sheriff's Office (Patrol Deputy Positions)

SUMMARY OF POSITION
The Aransas County Sheriff’s Office is seeking two highly motivated individuals for our patrol division. We are a proactive sheriff’s office that focuses on patrolling neighborhoods and stopping theft’s and burglaries. As many know, thieves and burglars steal to support their drug habit. If you find a thief or burglary, you will more than likely find drugs. Patrol deputies work 12 hour shifts with every other weekend off. The Aransas County Sheriff’s Office participates in a federally funded OT grant for highway interdiction that allows ample opportunities for overtime pay. Deputies have the potential to make $100k+per year (base salary + overtime). The sheriff’s office also offers certificate and education pay. The Aransas County Sheriff’s Office has a brand new fleet of Dodge Chargers and Dodge Ram trucks. The sheriff’s office has a Carolina Skiff boat and an airboat for waterway interdiction operations. Areas of advancement with the sheriff’s office include: Commercial Vehicle Enforcement, Civil Process, Warrants Division, Narcotics/K-9 Division, and Criminal Investigations Division.

Must be able to comply with departmental physical agility requirements as specified in the Aransas County Sheriff’s Office policy and procedures manual (1/2 mile in 5 minutes, 300 meter run in 90 seconds, and 13 pushups-no time limit). The physical agility is not that difficult, our deputies of all ages, genders, and sizes pass the test every year.
