The Throckmorton County Sheriff’s Office is currently taking applications for a Full-time Deputy Sheriff. This will be an additional position added as of January 1, 2019.
Requirements: 21 years of age or older, high school diploma or GED, TCOLE Certification or be in the process of obtaining TCOLE Certification, valid TX License, must reside in Throckmorton County once hired, must pass background investigation. Will be required to pass drug screening. Must be professional on and off duty, have strong work ethic and be self-motivated.

Duties: Duties of the deputy will include, but are not limited to, patrolling the 915 square miles of the county, serving civil process, traffic enforcement along three US Highway, several State Highways and multiple farm to market and county roads, drug interdiction, felony and misdemeanor criminal investigations and responding to complaints and concerns from the community. The deputy will also assist with public function in the county, investigate vehicle crashes when necessary. The deputy will provide law enforcement for the cities of Throckmorton and Woodson as well as the community of Elbert. The deputy will be required to work varied shifts including weekends, holidays and nights, and be on call several days a week.
