Fisher County Sheriff's Office (Deputy Position)

Open Position: Immediate opening for one Patrol Deputy

Job Description:
This position will be primarily patrol consisting of either 12-hour night shifts with every other 3-day weekend off, or 8-hour early morning shifts working most weekends. Morning shift will have somewhat sporadic days off to allow for at least one weekend off per month. While patrol will be the primary job assignment, deputies are also required to serve civil process, conduct inmate transports when necessary, assist with courthouse security, conduct investigations, conduct traffic enforcement, engage in drug interdiction, and any other assignments from the Chief Deputy or Sheriff. The Fisher County Sheriff takes a very proactive approach to crime and expects his deputies to conduct regular patrol of Fisher County municipalities and roadways. Candidates must be able to operate under minimal supervision with character and integrity.

Requirements:
Must hold a current Basic (or higher) Peace Officer Certification from TCOLE, must possess a high school diploma or equivalent and a valid driver's license, and must pass a background investigation. Deputies are required to live within 20 miles of Roby within 90 days of their start date. Experience is not mandatory but applicants with patrol experience will be given preference.

Benefits:
Starting pay will be $18.12/hr. with time and a half overtime, no comp time. Employees receive PTO time, Vacation time, heath insurance, life insurance, and retirement. Deputies will be provided with a take-home vehicle equipped with an in-car computer, AR15 and shotgun.
